Mobile Apps

We have developed bespoke mobile applications for multiple clients. One such case being a chauffeur application, where the client already had an advanced internal booking system. Booking details were sent via email to the drivers and there was no feedback on how the drivers were getting on with the booking, nor were there real-time status updates in either direction. This was far from ideal as it resulted in mistakes, excessive admin, and incorrect or delayed data communication.

In this particular case, we used Layer2 software to synchronise the internal database to Microsoft Azure. Once in Azure, we built a custom API over the Azure database which allowed a mobile application to interact with Azure. The internal software was expanded to accommodate a new way of working, and the new driver mobile App was introduced. Real time status updates were instantly communicated and crucial booking information was seamlessly passed between the chauffeurs’ app and the controller’s internal booking system in real time.

A significant hurdle we had to overcome was dealing with the complexities of amendments, cancellations and booking updates occurring in a live multi user environment.
